How much could one stand to gain using a rifled choke tube in a smooth bore shotgun. I shoot rifled slugs out of my smooth bore 870 with a 28" barrel and have shot 3" groups out to 75 yards. Also, would I continue to shoot rifled slugs or would the rifled choke allow me to shoot the sabot slugs? Thanks for any input.

If you can shoot 3" groups at 75 yards with rifled slugs out of your smoothbore?

There is nothing you can do to improve on that.

The rifled choke tubes are for sabot slugs, not rifled slugs.

A rifled tube would make shooting sabots worthwhile.

But, if any of the smoothbores I've owned would print 3" groups at will, I'd not even think about a rifled tube or a rifled slug bbl.

^ Or saboted slugs, for that matter.
I like Rottweill Brenneke slugs.

Most shotgun slug shooting folks understand that sabots are what we refer to when talking sabot encased sub caliber shotgun slugs.

I suppose most rifle and handgun shooters would as well.

Carlson extended rifled choke tube along with Lightfield lites sabot slugs would probably be of benefit to you.

PS. To get optimal results you would have to utilize low power optical aiming device. Three inches at 75 is not bad so only more precise way of aiming is all that maybe needed.
