Never heard of Rio branded ammo until visiting Sportsman's Warehouse in Lexington KY last weekend. Now Cheaper Than Dirt sends me an email with 250 count cases of 12 gauge buckshot for $112 and change (plus shipping). Back label on a box of 209 Rio primers I bought to try for my Optima V2 inline pistol said "made in Spain". Not a bad price on buckshot to be be honest, but shipping would add significantly. Probably good stuff but I thought I'd see what others here think. I do know that as USA- made stuff gets higher in price, and Obozo's Fools (the EPA and others) effectively destroyed the remaining US lead mining operation, ammo may go even higher. That caused retailers to seek out brands that in the 70's I had never heard of, but which are now mainstream, like Tula, PMC, Augilla, S and B, etc. What experience with Rio ammo is out there? I'd hate to stake my life on a Spanish version of the Remington Golden Bullets I've bought in the past (and had to relegate to the last ditch bin). Don

Rio ammo is good stuff. I've shot Rio game loads with no issues so far. Here in Uruguay we get more Rio shotshells (and other spanish brands) than any other US made ammo. No issues with this Rio ammo or any other spanish stuff.

I shoot Rio 00 buck out of a FN SLP and Benelli Nova for practice, no problems over a thousand rounds.
