As the title indicates, I'm searching for a minimalist optic mount and optic for my new Century/MKE AP5 pistol. The gun comes with a claw type mount, but it extends far enough forward that I fear that it will interfere with reliably being able to lock or release the bolt. Alternatively, I don't want to shred my poor delicate left hand.
Having said that I'm pretty sure I want to get a Trijicon RMR with a triangle reticle, I just haven't quite decided whether it will be a battery operated unit or one of the ACOG style dual illuminated versions that has the fiber optic and tritium system. That said, I'd love to find a more minimalist mount than the factory mount or the many optics mounts out there for MP5's and clones. I really would prefer something that would only mount to the rear mounting point to reduce excess weight and keep from extending too far forward since I prefer a more rearward mounted optic due to my astigmatism.
Anyone have any recommendations based on experience?
