Paging @longdayjake

He'll be able to give you the straight scoop. I actually was curious of this myself, but my purchases have been going other areas (calibers) currently.

Glad you asked, I've looked at those a few times and did some light digging but never got enough to answer my query.

I'd guess they would hold up fine with 38 loads, both pistol and rifle, but with full tilt 357 I would be concerned.

I like to be able to roll crimp. But I do have a short case charging die that would skip the bell mouth step. Just for more neck tension.

That could work well, I just found some coated 38 rn on my shelf that don't have a crimp groove. I used a taper crimp from my 9mm dies so as to not dig in too much. Mind you, these are loaded very light for 38 and according to my testing notes from a while ago there was no bullet movement on the 6th round after firing 5.

In a rifle I would not be concerned about setback at all. How the burn and pressure is generated and how your feeding the round tube magazine would be my consideration. The much heavier weight of the rifle would eliminate setback conserns.

It'll be shot out of a 77/357 with a rotary magazine.

I went ahead and ordered 500 from RMR. I also placed and order in from Arsenal Molds for 170 gr. SWC Keith style in .358".

In that case you should be fine if the bolt is not harsh ramming them home. It would be easy to test If that gives you problems. I would drop the bolt on a cartridge 3 times and see if you get any change.

I would keep looking for something with a proper cannelure, or crimp groove
