I've never ordered from RMR before and so I've never shot these plated bullets but I want to give them a try. Am I good shooting these in Glock's OEM polygonal barrel?

I shoot plated all the time in my G23 100% factory gun no issues at all for me, as far as RMR 9mm plated I don't know have not tired them but RMR has really high reviews by the members here on THR

I load plated bullets in my glock 21 with no problems. I also load RMR plated 9mm & s&w 40 &380 with great results. I buy all my bullets from RMR great guys fast shipping

Lots of us have fired many thousands of RMR plated bullets in polygonal barrels with no problems. Everything I have gotten from RMR has been top notch with nary a complaint. If I had more $ I'd be buying more now.

All of my Glocks, and my other 9mm pistols, love the 115gr Hard Core Match Plated bullets from RMR! They're all I load/shoot these days... They give me ammunition that's more accurate than I can shoot!

Curses to Jake.
By that I mean, Jake and company at RMR just lightened my wallet in exchange for 1000 124gr 9mm's

I'm looking forward to seeing how these compare to the ones they made before the move.

I found Jake's 124 fmj's to be a little more consistent in size, etc. than the plated, which were already VERY good. That's all I use now. And he just put them on sale today for father's day.

I can't wait. The old ones were good. So if these are better that's great.
BTW for a change I got lucky.
I was going to order yesterday but didn't have time.
Today I got the email before I ordered so it was cool to to get it before ordering.
I guess my luck is finally improving!

Slacker...I wish I could stop myself at 1k. ;)

I usually order at least 3k, but I noticed the website has buttons/check boxes for 4k, 12k, 20k, and 30k ...with increasing quantity discounts

Who you calling slacker?
I'd have bought more but budget didn't allow.
I'm still recovering from a bad situation that put a hurt on me.
If I'd have had the $$$ I'd have gotten 2000
I'm trying to get a buddy into reloading but he's not ready yet. I even offered to let him use my gear (with me here) if he'd pay for 500, the primers and powder. Had he done that I'd have done the 2000. I think he's afraid of going down this rabbit hole even though he saw the difference between a factory load and a custom hand load.

All that aside, I'm planning to setup a system that as I shoot, I'll be putting what I'd have spent on factory ammo into an envelope so I can then build up a stash for my next order. When I get to 1/2 the 1000 used, I'll place another order, probably 2000 or 3000 depending on what's squirreled away. The plan is then to repeat again when I use up half the supply.

Maybe I'm over complicating things but to me ordering twice what I use seems like a logical way to build up a supply for the next shortage.

Of course that gets us back to the question of how many bullets, primers and powder do we need/ should we have on hand. The only logical answer I can come up with is enough to get through the next shortage plus some extra, "just in case".

just curious--surely for 30K they would have to come by a shipping company like ups, etc. and there would be some shipping charge. If not my mailman would quit. He ain't no spring chicken.
Has anyone ordered that many at once?

Maybe and maybe not...depends on the company's policy.

I recently ordered 5K 170gr coated bullets from another company and it came in two (2) USPS Flat Rate Priority (Med) boxes of 2500 each (160gr were 2650 each). When you ordered their Bulk Pack, they cover shipping and insurance in the price. My mail person was very happy I was home and waiting with my Harbor Freight dolly.

You can get a lot more 124gr bullets into a Med Flat Rate box...I'm thinking something between 6-8 boxes

Ideally I'd be putting away enough for a year's cushion...so 30k-50k should cover both practice and matches, but that's over $3700 for bullets, $570 for powder, and $1500 in primers

I thought I was a bit overboard until a member of my Reloading club talked about upping his stash from 100k to 300k

Jake is offering 10% off for Father's Day with RMRDAD promo code which would bring the cost of 115 gr FMJ down to $67.50/1000 for 20,000 quantity purchase. For 30,000, $66.60/1000 shipped!

I am sure Jake would work out a deal for 50,000 bullets. ;)

WOW

That's an awful lot of shooting and a lot of money to do it!
well until I did the math which works out to about 500 to 1000 rounds per week. Which seems like a lot until you work it out to about 100 rounds a day.
Of course our "friends" that want to eliminate our right to do this would only see the 30k to 50k and not the fact that you're competing and practicing and are proficient and safer because of it.

In any case I'm sure you do it all on a Lee Loader lol So don't know how you have any time to get on the net and share with us
(for the humor challenged I'm kidding here)

you guys really have to quit feeding the demon in me! I'm waiting to try 50gr z max after work to see if they shoot well before picking up 500rds on sale and now i see this and the demon is saying just put it on the credit card and pay it off end of the month. I have about 400rds of extreme 124gr to go through.

bds,

You just cost me ~$45. I was wanting to pick up 500 of their 9mm 115g FMJ and that 10% off coupon put me over the edge. I hope my wife doesn't mind me buying myself a Fathers Day gift...:)

The numbers are pretty eye opening until you break it down a bit.
Just as an example, we're having a Steel Challenge match this Sunday. 5 targets per string, shot 5 times, on 8 stages, comes out to 200 rounds...if you don't miss and need to take any extra shots
This Saturday we have a small USPSA match with only 4 stages...so likely less than 200 rounds.
I try to get out an practice a couple of times a week between weekend matches. So you can see that it is pretty easy to get to 600-800 rounds a week :D

I certainly wouldn't be shooting this much if I wasn't loading on a progressive press. If I only shot 9mm, a Dillon 1050 would make a lot of sense.

What I do is put away a lot of sized and primed brass. Then when I take a 10-15 minute break between other things, I'll walk out and load a couple of hundred rounds at a time. This works better for me than loading 1k at a sitting...also helps when you have several thousand cases to cycle through :p

HHhmm let me see probably 3K 124s per MFRB (can't fill a MFRB completely full space wise-weight limit)So 30K would be 10 MFRBs. My Postperson would "Bleep"
The Post Office by RMR must be a busy place. Bet there's no need for the people there to go to the gym they probably get a workout every day:evil::)

Probably shot closer to 20k. (easy to lose count, and if I count I might have to add up how much I have spent:D) "Ignorance is Bliss"
