Never shot a 460 but after a full cylinder of 500 my hands were numb for a few minutes. I shot a good group, but even if offered I doubt I would do it again
it’s a complete useless gun except for Hand gun hunting Elephants.

After my Les Baer… I’ll get a 5” .500 … then I’ll get altruists

You make me want to get a .500! But I told myself that if I didn’t die in 2020 (Aliens not CooFloo) I would buy a Les Baer and become a FUDD .45. Already bought a Colt .45… So I can’t buy anymore guns Until I get a Les Baer.

Anyways, let me look up my .460
load that I shoot:

300gn coated
40g of H110
2.155” with a extra heavy Crimp

240G XTP
45g H110
2.190” with a extra heavy Crimp

If I had a Les Baer I’d be afraid to shoot it much. It would end up being a safe queen. That’s how I treated my S&W M29 for a long time. I got it from my Father in Law for a great deal, but it had only had one cylinder full of ammo put through it when I got it. It was basically a 30+ year old NIB gun. I just recently decided to start getting it out on a somewhat regular basis.

I am very interested in a 454. The cool part about the 460 is it basically eats anything. I want to shoot all 3 cartridges in a row for a direct comparison in the same gun. Only found one 454 lever gun and it's real spendy.

I’m going to carry it. I don’t baby my guns except a few rifles. Go out and enjoy the M29! I like honest wear on my gun. I’ve only sold 3-5 guns in my life and wish I never did

The 454 is a very interesting round and case. larger than a Colt .45 and when you hold the case… it says, “I’m not playing around” I have cases, bullets, and dies for 454. I shot it out my .460 once and was like why bother when .460 300g Flinch Master is begging you to light it off.

Same here. I bought and shot one box of 454 when I first got it, and I’ve shot one or two rounds of 45 Colt out of mine. It only gets fed full house 460 now.

that X frame is so Beefy you can hammer railroad spikes with it

The powder price is not bad at all but I won't comment on the price of the primers.

Alcan primers, wow. Those have not been made since the mid 70's, I think. That makes them at least 45 years old... It's hard to believe they were still on the store shelves lol.

Well, it looks.like you will be shooting well for a while.

We went to several different places. I actually found the Alcan primers on the side of the road! There was a guy set up with a tent selling ammo. Only here in the south, lol.

when I lived in NC we bought ammo and guns from the flea market, hardware store, and side of the road. Right next to the boiled peanuts, melons, tomatoes, greens, wild hog (live), and pork rinds
