I am thinking of starting blackpowder and was considering a reproduction American Civil War rifled musket. Are there any good quality makers ? Leaning to a Springfield 1862 three band rifle.

i have several reproduction muskets,i prefer armisport.i think my 3 band enfield is my all time favorite rifle.good luck, buy the one you like best.

If your target is live fire take an Armisport, if you'll be a renacter are both good (armisport and euroarms)
I have many .58 caliber and many i have traded in the years, but for me armisport is more accurate on target, euroarms is at first sight better done, but no one of mine made good result on target!
I don't know Pedersoli springfield how it works the higher price make it less appetible than other, but on a old rifle magazine i find the notice than the Pedersoli springfield was japan made by Miroku!
Keep well on mind that only in very rare case are good shooter out of the box, they need a little bit of work, on the lock and on the barrel and tang bedding in the wood.
ciao
