Been looking at some finishes for my CZ SP-01. Nothing wrong with the polycoat, I would just like something a bit different. After seeing some pictures of guns with the Robar NP3 finish, I think that would make my SP-01 look really really nice. Anyone have any thoughts on this? It is 285 for the gun and one mag plus shipping both ways, not sure if its worth it for a cooler look. Post #6 in this thread has a pic of a P01 in the NP3 finish. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=4173903 Thanks

I had a P-01 NP3ed. Some pointers:

1) Don't have any of your pins coated, mine were out of spec after the job and I had to alter parts like the sear assembly to allow fluid motion.
2) I don't recommend coating the slide. Touching NP3 is like touching a teflon cooking pan....it's slick. The CZ has a small gripping surface and if your hands are sweaty it makes it difficult to cycle the action under stress.

Ditto on the slide. I had my P7 coated with NP3. The finish is gorgeous and experly applied. The problem is the slick slide. I live and shoot in Florida. With the strong recoil spring, It's embarassing trying to pull the slide back to lock it open, especially with sweaty hands. John

I've been thinking about having one of my early Transitional CZ75s done in NP3, but other things have gotten in the way. Now I know how much of my recreation fund can be set aside for the project. Thanks for providing answers on a project I've had bouncing around in the dark recesses of my semi-conciousness.
