Rock River LAR9 came home, as good as it seems?

I packed up a couple of handguns I really did not care for and headed to my favorite LGS today. A hour and a trade later I walked out with a real nice Rock River LAR9 9mm pistol, AR15 form factor, 3 mags and a very nice tactical soft case.

This one seems to be very well made and solid, wondering if anyone here has one, or perhaps a rifle version, and might want to share thoughts?

Add the SIG SB-15 "arm brace" and really enjoy your new pistol.

A cheap red dot optic like the Bushnell TRS-25 or Primary Arms MS-09 works great. Although at pistol distances the AR sights are about the only irons I can still hit with.

Maybe the 9mm mags are better now, but most of mine didn't work right first couple of times out giving bolt over base feed problems on the even number shots in the first 10 rounds of a 30 round load. Once some finish on the inside was worn off they all seem to function fine now, but initially it caused a lot of frustration as I had many mags.

Alright guys I got it to the indoor pistol range today after mounting a 1" riser and a Primary Arms red dot from the "miscellaneous" drawer.

I ran 50 rounds downrange and just wanted to keep going. This one is seriously a keeper. I bought a home-built AR9 a couple years back, the thing was so unreliable and horrible to shoot I got rid of it and swore never to do it again.

This gun just feels solid as a rock. It is a downright pleasure to shoot and has so little recoil I can't see a brace in it's future right now.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the gun and one of the target. You can see the two sight in shots then I started eating out the circle. I let the RSO shoot a few rounds too, he couldn't contain himself

Kept it at 15 yards for now, all from a standing stance, no support. I'm really jazzed about this find

Or at least look into it, I've thought about getting a ar pistol now that the brace is available.
