This Saturday is the Market Hall gun show in Dallas. I've been trying to organize a mini-get-together so we can meet, greet, and hang out. I've found a few people from Austin who will make the drive, and quite a few DFW'rs who are going to try and make it out. If you can make it, we're meeting at 11am, over by the vendor area/rest rooms. We'll stand out, I'm quite sure. I've posted this on several other boards, too, so it's a chance to meet local shooters that you may not know if you don't visit any other boards.

I'm going but not sure what day or time yet since there is a small possibility that my brother will be in town and want to go.

Anyhow I'll be wearing an off-white "Molon Lave" cap and an untactical dark green Jansport daypack to hold whatever goodies I find.

' Will put you on prayer list. ;)

Undecided just now about Market Hall. Teenage son wanting me to possibly be at least taxi driver for he and friends to Car Show. I might drop them off and see y'all there.

I've been making tenative plans to go. I just found out the North Texas Irish Festival is this weekend, though, and I may not be able to fit everything in.

NTIF is one of my 'gotta do' things...even though I'm Scottish. Cousins, though.

If I make it, it'll probably be Sunday.

Regards,
Rabbit.

I'm going to try to go, but I don't know if I'm going on Saturday or Sunday. Gotta go to the car show this weekend, too, and my wife's schedule will dictate mine. If I'm there, I'll drop by.

Well,

My son and I made the show Sat. but we were lucky to make it there by 3.

Hope all had a good time and I'm sorry I missed you guys. Checked out the food and drink area but it looked like mostly peps getting something to eat;)

Can't say we found any deals. But, if you were in the market for a cheap switchblade there seemed to be more than a body could haul off.

No RAMIs that I could locate sadly, but one fellow had a case of nearly new looking CZ 52s for $135. Seemed like the deal of the show to me.

Take care

I saw a few Cetmes for the low $300s, but I don't know what to look for on them, so I didn't get one yet.

Selfdfenz,

Walther Doc (or is it Doc Walther  ) had 9mm Ramis for $399. He's at all the shows and has a web site I think...not sure. They were nice and I was tempted but I resisted for now.

Oh Man ...dont tell me that!!!

His tables were bout the first place I looked. I've bought from him in the past.

I saw his CZs,,, he had a P01 and some full size units but I did not see a RAMI. I was looking for the speckled boxes.

I guess that's what I get for not asking someone directly. I'm going to ck the web and see if he has a site and what gives..

Other than trying to actually meet some other THRers that's the only reason I went.

BTW

Did it seem like there were more mags and more different types of mags for sell at this show? Did not see any deals but it seemed like there was an abundance of mags.

I too thought the CETMEs were a bit lower.
I was surprised the Rom AKs were not a bit lower in price.

If and when the AWB goes away it seems that imported AK should be cheaper as no parts will have to be changed and they can sell them come-as-you-are.

Not many great deals. For new stuff Bachman and Doc Walther had just about every possible handgun between them at VERY good prices. There was that one booth you mentioned with the C&R stuff - pretty good prices on Yugo SKS's, Moisin- Nagants and CZ-52s. I picked up an Eagle/Armalite stripped lower for a reasonable (not great) price from the ONLY dealer carrying them! I saw a couple CETMEs for $300+ (don't remember exactly but mid 300's), just wasn't interested.

Yes I did see at leat 100 dealers with AR mags. :)

.....if you wanted beanie babies or though.....lot's of good deals

Beanie babies, I saw'em and fortunatley my little boy is not interested in them but if my daughter had been there it would have been a different story.

What on earth have beanie babies got to do with the shooting sports?

If they would dispose of all the non-gun stuff at guns shows you could do the hall in 1/2 the time. I don't have a problem with people coming to shows and selling other stuff but they should all be grouped away from the dealers.

Think how much more room there would be between the real dealer's tables.

I plan to be there in the morning with my son. We will try to look for you guys.
