Mine looks just like AMraider's rifle.

I think they would be much more attractive with a refinished stock. The thick, lumpy, glossy finish is the only thing I don't like about my M69. But... I'm not a woodworker and I know I've wrecked a few things in the past by not leaving well enough alone!

:)

EXCELLENT .22lr's!!

Ive had one forever and make alot of meats with it.
The folding sights are dead on, the sling swivels will need replacing with years of carry. I put on Carcano swivels and a Finn Mosin sling.
The cleaning kit in the buttrap is handy

You can buy spare mag's at "Liberty Tree Collectors" a gunparts online store. Made in Tiawan and work great.

I use a matt brown rustolium spray paint on mine, as I live next to the Ocean and hunt the saltwater alot.

All my kids have a Romy M-69.

Best photo on THR.

Yeah about that clip. Clip is the proper name for a detachable box magazine. Some jerk made that crap up about a magazine and clip being different.

I'm a sucker for blue metal and wood stocks. Throw in some iron sights and it's all over for me! Those are some great looking rifles.

These rifles always give me a laugh.

I had 3 and am down to 2. I got them years apart.
The first was back in 01 from big 5. On sale for 60ish.

My friend wants one so he goes to buy one and they're not on sale anymore. He bites the bullet to speak and buys one for 120ish out the door.

I loose the 2 magazines and find a replacement rifle with 2 for $50. Sell one rifle without the mags.

Find another for sale locally for 40 dollars and buy it to fiddle with.

My friend gets mad later when I tell him I bought 3 for nearly the price of his one rifle.

I saw one for $230 last week. I thought about it for a minute. If it was under 200 I’d be posting about taking it to the range. I wound up with a $89 in-line muzzleloader but that’s a story for another day. It did feel good, but the stock is short and I have a Marlin 25 that does the same thing and has more reasonable magazines.

Yeah about that clip. Clip is the proper name for a detachable box magazine. Some jerk made that crap up about a magazine and clip being different.
A clip is a string of rounds that insert in to a (non-detachable) magazine. Actually called a "stripper clip". Think of a clip as a magazine speed loader for semi-autos.

I have one of those Romanian Trainers, got it out a couple of days ago along with some other 22's to check the accuracy. It is spot on. These are hefty and heavy duty little boogers, front of barrel ringed with something like thread cuts ala Thompson Subs but not that deep, don't see that it reduced weight much, single extractor, my Mossberg Trainer has double extractors. The stock is a heavy hardwood, something like oak. Not real purty but this rifle is built to take it as a trainer should be and would build up the arm muscles of a squirrel hunter.;)

It's correct...

From Wikipedia (see the page for an extensive list of references)...

Etymology:
The word "magazine" derives from Arabic makhazin, the plural of makhzanmeaning "depot, storehouse" (originally military storehouse); that comes to English via Middle French magasin and Italian magazzino.[1] In its original sense, the word "magazine" referred to a storage space or device.[1] In the case of written publication, it refers to a collection of written articles. This explains why magazine publications share the word with gunpowder magazines, artillery magazines, firearm magazines, and in French and Russian (adopted from French as магазин), retailers such as department stores.[2]

Magazine (firearms)

Not to be confused with Magazine (artillery).
For other uses, see Magazine (disambiguation).

A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device for a repeating firearm, either integral within the gun (internal/fixed magazine) or externally attached (detachable magazine). The magazine functions by holding several cartridges within itself and sequentially pushing each one into a position where it may be readily loaded into the barrelchamber by the firearm's moving action. The detachable magazine is sometimes colloquially referred to as a "clip", although this is technically inaccurate since a clip is actually an accessory device used to help load ammunition into a magazine.[1][2][3]

As always this is wrong. A magazine is where gunpowder is stored or something you read.

A magazine is a storage device for supplying/feeding of a given thing on demand. It is not specific to ordnance or publications. Cameras have film magazines. Old CD changers had disc magazines. My Mazak Integrex 200 SY has an 80 tool chain magazine, my Fadal 4020HT has a 21 tool rotary magazine (different from a turret that rotates tools into cutting position, as on my Mazak SQT15M or Hardinge HCT)

The etymology of the word means storehouse or storage device. In the same sense, magazines when talking about publications are "stores of information".
