Yeah, you definitely want the single hook.
My SAR-1 (got it for $279 + transfer fee back when AIM had them on sale) had straight sights and no trigger slap, but it has the dreaded soft hammer. That's right, crappy heat treat. I'm going to drop in one of the Tapco G-2 kits pretty soon. Just letting this one slowly deteriorate and getting all my money out of it.
I also put some aftermarket, US made synthetic stocks on mine, as well as a new rear sight that is adjustable for windage as well as elevation.
