I have been shooting a Rossi 45 LC for a long time. Mostly used it as my Cowboy Action Gun. But I have always wondered about, the strength of my rifle. I have never shot anything but factory loads or my own reloads that are loaded to factory spec`s. Would my rifle be strong enough to shoot the Ruger only reloads, or factory ammo like Cor-Bon or other hot factory loads. My Rifle is the SS model with a 20 inch barrel copy of a 92 Winchester. I don`t think I ever would shoot any of the hot stuff but just always wondered if I could. Thanks in Advance for Your Help:

Everything I've read about them has said they will handle all the "Ruger only" loads just fine. The action was chambered in 454 Cassull and hot rodded 45 colt typically only develops half the pressure of that round. I've got a 20" ordered, and will probably end up running some hot loads just to see how well it will shoot with them.

I have A Rossi 92 in .45 Colt. It will handle the hot loads fine. I load 300gr cast over heavy charge of H 110. Makes it A whole other gun from the 250gr and unique loads.

The model 92 action is one of the stronger lever action designs, and will handle hot loads quite well. The only downside is it's so light, that it really lets you know when you're shooting hot loads.
