Well, after looking at the price of 45 lc ammo and seeing the posts on my last thread I don't think I want a 45 lc.So my new question is;could a rifle like a handi-rifle,rossi singleshot, cva scout or even a rossi 92 chambered in 44 mag, handle the higher pressures generated by buffalo bore loads?

Their most insane .44mag load...

https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=54

Heavy .44 Magnum +P+ Ammo - 340 gr. L.F.N. - G.C. (1,478 fps/M.E. 1,649 ft. lbs.) - 20 Round Box

NEW HEAVY 44 MAGNUM +P+

This new load is designed ONLY for certain firearms. They are as follows; Ruger Red Hawk, Ruger Super Red Hawk, Ruger Super Blackhawk or Vaquero, Freedom Arms Model 83, Taurus Raging Bull, Colt Anaconda and Dan Wesson Revolvers. Suitable rifles include T/C Encore, "modified" Marlin 1894 (see next paragraph), Winchester 1894, any rifle with a falling block action and the Handi Rifle. We get hundreds of emails asking if this load can be fired in S&W revolvers or some firearm other than what is in the above list. The answer is NO.

Other than that one, the rest of their loads are designed to be safe in any/all steel firearms.

What do you plan on shooting that you need 44 Magnum +P+ loads?

How is it that 45 LC ammo is too expensive but Buffalo Bore 44 Mag ammo isn't?

Consider a 45-70 :)

I know this is in the rifle section but...

:what:WOW:what: I would not want to shoot that load through my SBH!
Talk about painful:uhoh:

I agree. If one puts you off cost wise then the other isn't any better.

I'm a huge fan that it's well worth it to reload for anything handgun related that has a "forty something" as the caliber. And by reloading your own you can load up to whatever you wish that is still prudently safe.

It's also entirely possible and practical to assemble a basic and modest reloading setup that costs around $200 or less if you are patient and shop for used items or stuff on sale. And the whole shebang will fit into a medium size storage tote to slip away when not being used.
