A guy at our local range has a Rossi 92 .357 for sale. I am not sure what year model it is yet. He is asking $400 for it. If it is in good condition, is this a good price? Is there something that I need to watch out for?

I know very little about lever action rifles so any information would be helpful.

I bought mine new for a little over 500 4 years ago. I would pay 400 without blinking if it looks good.

Due to no new ones being on the market, that is a great price. My SS 16" is my favorite centerfire range toy.

Buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it. The Rossi 92 in .357 is one of my favorite long guns I've shot, and it looks like Rossi doesn't make them any more. They are just a joy as a plinker. Unless it's totally beat to crap, $400 for one is a great price as well.

I’d buy that right now if it’s in good shape. I paid 375 for a used .45 Colt about four years ago, so 400 now is about right.
A new Marlin is 675-700 and up at my LGS.

Stay safe!

I got mine a few weeks ago at a real deal, but I would have paid $400 for sure. Just get him to let you try it out at the range with 38 & 357.
Try accuracy with a rest & the function in various positions, look at the ejected cases ,& then how well the feeding ramp
works. I have heard they have had problems there but others here may know more about that.
At a shooting range you have a good opportunity to get what you want without having to take some ones word for it.

I have one that's so old it says Interarms on it. Its great rifle. Biggest thing to note on mine, and my Marlin for that matter, is .357 and .38 Special will have drastically different points of impact. I sight mine with 185 grain cast gas check flat nose, in .357, and roll on.

That's a very decent price for a much in demand lever gun! Let us know if you got it!

Too bad you missed it. I've got a Rossi 92 in both 357 (16") and 44mag (20") and love them both. I paid a tad over $500 for each of them.
