Hello everyone,

I haven’t posted on this forum in quite some time. So I thought I just might post my thread here:). This time I was wondering if anyone could give me there opinion or experience they know (or have) with the Rossi Cyclops model. This specific gun I came across online has a 6" Inch Barrel SS .357 Magnum caliber. Looks pretty decent:D. Just wasn’t sure what others had to say. So chime in and share your 2 cents. Is it worth picking up? Thanks;).

starting bid of $595.00 that guys on crack.
I bought a new one for less than half that years ago.
nice gun but not collectible at all.

Here's some info on that model: Rossi Cyclops model 988 SS. Ported or unported. Weighs 51 ounces. Imported 1997-1998. !00% condition= $385;
98% condition=$300;95% condition= $230: 90%=$175
Add $50 for an unported 10 and 3/4 barrel. Add $60 for a ported barrel that length.

As you can see from that it isn't a collector's piece. While it is a rare beast that doesn't mean it's highly sought after.

It's a good gun, just asking a bit steep price makes one wonder what the seller is thinking. Could be he'll negotiate down if contacted, but don't hold the breath on that. Newer Taurus Trackers at that price would be of more utility. And many of those can be bought cheaper than what the Cyclops is going for.

On the other hand.... it's what the gun means to the owner that counts...that would mean you if you get it. It doesn't have to be a collectable high priced gun to make a owner happy. Just the fact it's a conversation piece,one of kind for the most part, and unique is enough to have one.

There may be others available online in the future or at other online auctions.
Outfits like www.jgsales.com and www.budsgunshop.com may see these from time to time. Even Gunsamerica might see one. All this at better or lower prices.

Gun Lists is a periodical that comes out weekly or bi weekly with all the listings for various brands,makes,and models. Just have to look under the heading of the company maker to see what's available used and the price.

Probably not a bad gun, but for that price you could get a 6" Ruger GP100 or S&W 686 and have money leftover for the scope....

I'll say this, the Cyclops I shot was one of the nicest pistols I've ever run across. Trigger was target grade, accuracy was just exceptional. I will find one and buy it someday.
But not that one. Price is WAY jacked up. I've passed on several for $450 NIB.

Ok...

Thanks everyone for your input. As it is HIGHLY appreciated ;). I think I will pass on this one and look for something cheaper. Although I just wanted to make sure with other people it was a good, quality firearm. Thanks again. And feel free to post anymore comments :).
