I just picked up a Puma M92, made by Rossi. .44 mag with 10+1 capacity. So far I like it, it's a good looking gun and seems solid.

But my problem is that loading the magazine to capacity is HARD. Like brand new Glock magazine hard...or even worse. It's VERY difficult to get that last round in there.

The gun is still reasonably new, so is this something that will work itself out over time? Or is there something I can do to make it easier to load while keepin reliability 100%?

I've never owned a lever gun so I'm not sure if this is the norm or what.

i had one in 44 mag and had all kinds of trouble with it,but it shot good so i tried to fix it,but in the end i gave up and sold it. and bought a well used win. 1892 in 44-40 and have never looked back, and the win has been a delight to shoot and use,no problems at all. the puma cost me just about 500.00 and the win cost me 700.00 at a auction and i know i can sell the win any day of the week for a profit. eastbank.

When I load with 240gr LSWC mine get a little harder to load the last round. If I load with 240gr JSP, or 200gr RNFP I can load the last round easily. The overall length of the loaded cartridge makes a difference.

I am using Leverevolution (225gr, I think), so perhaps that is the issue.

I don't have any other cartridges to compare to, so perhaps the soft point is giving it a longer OAL.

I'm also having a problem with the next round in the mag not coming out after ejecting the spent case sometimes. Seems I have to REALLY work the action to get it working 100%. Anyone encounter this? Just something that needs polishing? The cartridge isn't coming out at all, if I cycle it again it'll usually pop out and feed correctly.
