Okay, I got one few days ago on a trade that involved several guns and this was thrown in by the other guy to sweeten the deal.

Its a 12G SxS with 19-20" barrel and rabbit ears marked "AMADEO ROSSI S,A,", "The Overland" and "INTERARMS". I was told it is about 9 years old only fired 2 rounds of magnum buckshot. It looks to be in about 95% condition with few spots of surface rust but the blued barrel/action and the stock actually looks very good.

Looks like a pretty neat gun but I don't have any use for it personally and I have no plans to get involved in SASS type shooting anytime soon so I going to sell it but what is a "fair" value of this shotgun? I been looking on various sales boards but I don't see this shotgun. Is this thing rare?

Not too rare, not too valuable, but a decent shooter, IMO.

Often, a used shotgun described as "Only shot twice" is a hard kicker with standard loads.

A few friends had these, used them for most everything. One, last I heard, was still using his for HD.

Most were choked IC and Mod. American Rifleman did a thing on them decades ago. Report was favorable.

Best guess, a $200-250 shotgun.

Dave, you're about a hundred bucks low on your estimate.Us cowboy shooters love those little guns and that' price would be considered a steal.
I had one and they will indeed kick the snot outta ya with heavier loads.
I tried slugs once;......onlyonce......out of mine to see what a double rifle mifght feel like. ZOWIES. re-read the only once part. LOL
Since they haven't been imported for some times, parts are a problem if needed.

I'll go with SASS#23149 on this one. My brother has been looking for a Rossi in his part of Texas for a couple of years. $400 has been the lowest he's seen. Up here in Ohio the only one I've come across was $350, and the seller wouldn't budge a dime. The cowboy shooters snap 'em up as fast as they appear.

Check Guns America if you need one or a price. That's where I got the second one for my dad so that he could make the Rossi 4 bbl.

Just did. There's two up at the moment -- one that the seller claims was stored "in a damp place" and has some surface rust and minor pitting, for $299. The other, down in Texas, is said to be in Like New condition, for $650.

I stand corrected. Thanks...

I shot one long ago with field loads. It did kick a bit, but I thought it'd make a nice quail gun.

Does anyone have any idea what the button on the bottom side of the forestock is for?

Rossi SxS

I need a complete forend for a Rossi Overland 12 ga Shotgun. Does anyone have one or have an idea where I can get one. I have been trying for about 3 years

If anyone is looking to purchase one of these shotguns, I just received one in excellent condition and am looking to sell it. Please contact me if you're interested or know someone who needs one. Thank you!

Does anyone know if the external hammers on the Rossi are real? On some of the external hammer coachguns, the hammers move but are actually cocking an internal striker which fires the gun.

question about overland 12 ga

i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to adjust the hammers on the overland sxs 12ga. the hammers on mine dont strike the firing pins. thanks much

I do not know if it is the same as my new Rossi 20Ga. but they are designed not to make contact with the firing pin as a safety feature. They instead have a piece that engages when the gun is cocked that moves up and is forced between the hammer and firing pin to allow it to fire when the trigger pulls.

Unload your gun and open the breech and rest your finger lightly on the hole where the firing pin goes through. Then cock it and fire it. Don't press herd over the firing pin hole because it may hurt. Or, come to think of it, there is another way to do it.

Unload the gun and open the breech, then cock the gun and pull the trigger. DO NOT LET OFF THE TRIGGER... HOLD IT TIGHT. Then you can actually see and inspect your firing pin and check depth ETC... Also look at the hammer and see if the piece I am talking about is visible. It will retract when the trigger is released and will be out of sight.

I hope this helps, but I would not recommend bending the hammer for any reason.

If you need more info on Rossi firearms their website address is: http://www.rossiusa.com

Have fun and good luck!

Mikey!
