I have the oportunity to purchase a really good looking Rossi polished stainless steel, 6 shot, snubby revo, in .357Magnum for a very attractive price. The piece appears to be like new and shot very little. I know that Rossi and Taurus are very close cousins. I have owned Taurus revos in the past and most were good for the price. I have never owned or operated a Rossi. I like the 6 shot feature and the piece will primarily reside in the center console. Altho highly unlikely, it could conceivably be called upon to provide self defense.:what:
I would appreciate honest comments both pro and con on the Rossi from knowledgable folks who have owned and operated one. I don't mean to be impolite nor do I wish to offend anyone but I'm only interested in comments from folks who have first hand experience.:scrutiny:
Thanks, JW:cool:

We have a .44 special Rossi, bought it about 10 years ago.Gets shot now and then, but always runs.

I would buy another one, especially if the price was right...meaning the wife agreeed to it. :)

Rossi

I have an older Rossi M68 2" blued .38 spl. that will rival any small frame S&W. Not sure about new ones, but my late 1980's version is great

I've owned 6 Rossi revolvers and ALL were good handguns. I have high opinion of the brand for the money. Don't expect the smooth, light DA trigger you might be used to from a M85 Taurus, but they ain't bad, just a bit rougher. All mine went bang every time and were quite accurate. I still have a little M68 3", early 80s version and unusually well finished and a little 511 Sportsman .22 kit gun.

My very first handgun was a Rosi, 1964, My father took it away from me and later gave it back, a 38snub, you never forget your first, lol, I think I paid a buddy 20 bucks for it. I was 16. I remember dad said "if you think you need this, here, take it back, just don't tell mom. I think folks were more sensible back then. He had already fought in wars in 2 countrys, and at 16 he was the head of the house, after my grandfather was killed in WW2. Funny how today we need laws governing where you can take a dump.

I have a Rossi 971, 6" stainless in .357 and I have to say that it is one of the most accurate revolvers I have. I also shoot Pythons and various S&W's on numerous occasions and my Rossi is extremely accurate. I've never had a double action timing issue and the action locks up super tight.

On a side note, I'm selling my Rossi .357 if anyone is interested.
