I have in my possession a 12ga Rottweil American Skeet shotgun with all the additional tubes. It belongs to a friend who wants to sell it. Someone had removed the trigger assembly and he couldn't get it back in, so asked if I could look at it for him. 5 minutes later it was all assembled and I'm ready to try it out. Is anyone familiar with these? It appears to be in fairly good condition. My question is whether this would do well as a field gun for birds and bunnies. If I took it off his hands it could replace my 870 12ga, my 20ga Ted Williams (not sure I want to get rid of it, yet) and my recently purchased 410 Stoeger Condor. But is it smart to spend the money on a skeet gun to use in the field where it will certainly get banged around.

Are the tubes all choked SK? Or do they have choke tubes? If no chokes, you are looking at .005 constriction, which is fine for close targets out to 25 yards or so

If the tubes are the same as found on the Rottweil 650 field gun, they are unique. FYI the gun above is of Italian manufacture.

oneounceload - No chokes, so I assume from your post they would be .005 constriction.

waidmann - Yes it is Italian made and the tubes are specific to this gun.
