Picked up a couple of these uber cheap not long ago to fill the need for a glove box and office desk hideaway gun (I'm in my shop some late sometimes.)
So far I've put about 300 rounds through each and then detail stripped them. Now when I say detail I mean detail. I own a small tool and dye shop so we break it down no problem. So far I'm impressed. No evidence of peening or any malshaping, loosening or whatever. One day I'll do a Rockwell hardness test to verify, but these definately look to be ansenal quality steel. While certainly not a Smith or a Colt, at the price these are going for I feel they should fit a niche for someone just needing a plain old snubby to pal around with. Does any of my compatriots have a higher round count or have had any problems with theirs? Let me know.

Many thanks in advance

I keep looking at these as well for a beater snubby that can be stashed just like you. I think that if I end up getting one a pair of Pachmayr Compacs would be in order. Really like the 6 shot capacity.

About the cheapest I've found em for is $225. Anyone know of any source where they might be cheaper?

All I have is the Armscor M202. It works great and always has.

inexpensive guns that work good are one of the simple pleasures in life

I bought the 4" M200 version a few years ago with the intent to run it till it broke. I put several thousand rounds of reloads through it and probably dry-fired it twice again. Hand spring broke around the 1000 round mark but I made a replacement out of piano string and it's been going ever since.

At $150 for a new gun they're a damn bargain.

They're not quite that cheap anymore. I paid $150 for mine also but the prices hover around $200 or so now.

armscor 206

I just bought an Armscor 206 I haven't shot yet. Wish we could get more feedback. And yes, I already own S&W, Colt and Rugers.

I traded my Armscor 202 (and cash) for a Taurus 85 a few years ago, I now wish I hadn't, it was a good gun. Nothing wrong with the Taurus, it's just getting another Armscor revolver in CA is too much work.

I dunno it's round count, I bought it used. I put probably 1000 rounds thru it. It was my first .38 spl and I really liked it. I bought it used at a bargain- $80. It was nearly brand new when i got it. Nothing broke and it liked my ultra-cheap reloads.

I've been thinking about getting one. I was looking at a used one recently and noticed it has carry-up issues.
I also noticed it looks to be a Colt D frame copy without the Colt lockup tightness.

I wonder if Pachmayr grips for a Colt D frame will fit it. I thought about getting one for my mom, so she can use it instead of her Commando Special for HD.
