Just to help satisfy my own personal curiosity I was hoping some people could venture a guess of the approximate number of rounds this firearm has seen. In reality it doesn't really matter but I'm curious what some other THR members come up with. I am not familiar enough with the wear patterns on the M&P to make a good guess. I personally put only 40 rounds through it so far.

Also a little background on the pistol. It was test fired at the factory February of 2011. There wasn't a spec of oil on the gun when I looked at it at the gun shop. The trigger was definitely broken in already, but the nylon guide in the striker channel was spotless clean. The frame rails show the most wear, while the barrel shows little wear.

While I assume that the gun was fired little, my own personal guess is that it was dry fired and cycled a lot. I can try and take better pictures if it would help.

I wont guess on the round count. But I will share with you it was not lubed right.

The M&P's will shot out very good and put up with a beating. My M&P .45 FS looks a lot better than that using M1 grease and M1 0W-20 oil and its over 5k rounds. Most rounds being +P 230gn XTP loads.

It is impossible to approximate round count for that gun but the slide has been cycled large number of times.

Yea I will make sure it receives better care then the previous owner did, even so I doubt it was shot much. Hard to find range time in only two months during a PA winter. No matter, it works well and seems to be accurate so it's winner to me.

I'd put the round count at 1000 or less. The slide rail tabs on M&Ps show wear quickly. A better indication of high round count would be wear on the barrel. The barrel on yours looks pretty new.

Thank you ElrodCod, I appreciate the response.
