I seen the Apex Tactical forward set sear and trigger kit that says it gives the M&P a 1911 type trigger feel. Does anyone have one of these and is this statement even close to being true? I love everything about the M&P but the sloppy slow creepy striker trigger. I have never liked any striker gun I ever fired but if this kit does what it says I figure an M&P with the safety would be just what I'm wishing for. Hope someone can help me with this decision.

I just installed mine last weekend and their claims are pretty accurate.

It reduced the pre and post travel of the trigger and the sear breaks very cleanly with the rolling break that most top action shooters now prefer. I might go back in and clean up the contact surfaces on the trigger bar (it remains stock) where it contacts the Ultimate Striker Block and Hard Sear. I might even take a closer look at the contact surface on the striker itself

I sure hope the claims are right. I just ordered the hard sear and striker block for my Shield. The guy at Apex did say if I wasn't happy they had a return policy and I could get my money back. Hope it isn't necessary. I don't like heavy triggers on any of my guns, including the ones I carry. I keep my finger off the trigger unless I intend to pull it.

You realize that we are discussing the FSS...it uses different sears and striker blocks than their regular ones

I got mine installed yesterday to replace an old Dan Burwell trigger job and took it out to the range today. I really did like the new trigger. It was sharp and crisp and the groupings got much tighter.

Just got back from the match.

I'm very impressed. When run at speed, the FSS trigger felt very much like a tuned 1911, but with the added benefit of being faster in target transitions

Thanks a lot for the info 9mm you are the only one that actually posted on what i was asking about as i wasn't talking about the regular kit.

I was so impressed with it that I took it apart again to clean up a little grit I was feeling...it is so much easier in good light and on a solid surface.

The two parts that aren't addressed in the kit are the striker and the trigger bar. I took the striker out and polished the surface that contacts the sear. Then I polished the two surfaces of the trigger bar that contact the striker block and the sear. Since I had it apart anyway, I took out the Hard Sear, saw where it was contacting the trigger bar and the striker, and gave them a light polish also.

WARNING: If you are going to do this,
Don't change any of the angles of the surfaces you polish. I'm not a gunsmith, didn't even sleep at the Holiday Inn last night and am not responsible for any effect the polishing might have on the function of your action.
Don't use files, electric/machine tools, rough sandpaper or stones

That would be awesome...not holding my breath.

I figured the improved feel was worth the move from IDPA SSP to ESP...plus then I get to mod the grips a bit more
