Y'all have GOT to hear this bizarre audio exchange from 1999 between The Rudy (doing his weekly radio thing as mayor) and a ferret freedom activist:

http://www.oliverwillis.com/2007/02/audio_rudy_giul.html

Not what I'd call "presidential material"...

Full disclosure: I had ferrets many years ago in California where, like NYC, they're banned. They're a hell of a lot cuter than Rudy no matter how he's dressed and quite possibly smarter.

It seems no one recalls, but Rudy backed out of the 2000 New York Senate race against Hillary Rodham/Clinton/Whatever. He GAVE her a Senate seat.

I wonder if she's got something on him. Or, I should put it..I am amazed at how MUCH she must have on him.

Seems like a good guy, in a relative sense, I'd love him as a Minneapolis Mayor or Minnesota Governor (Post-Tim Pawlenty - He is great) or Senator, but not one on which I would pin any hopes for Leadership of the Free World.

Those of you that are not that familiar with Ghoul-iani should look a little more closely.

While he did a lot to clean up NY he did it at the cost of the Civil Rights of a lot of different people.

Rudi has a long history of not just ignoring threats to 2A but stomping all over 2A.

A person is a sum of their actions...Rudi has a lot of bad ones behind him.

Rudi is not a good person IMHO and the thought of him as POTUS scares the hell out of me.

Rudi has the strongest track record of any current Presidential nominee candidate.

That is, his track record of totalitarian restraint of freedom.

I, too, keep ferrets as pets. I have NO doubt that they are smarter than Rudy!

That is the funniest thing I've heard in a while. It'd be funnier if that idiot wasn't running for President.

Ron Paul is the only hope for this country... I wish I could be 18 by that time, but alas, I will only be 17.

He keeps saying ''What works for NYC doesn't always work for the rest of America''.

I agree fully. Like the old (or new) mayor for example....

Physically, I don't see the ferret connection with Rudy. Metaphorically, sure.

To me, all the pictures of Guiliani looks like the skin of his head is pulled tight giving him a grinning skull appearance.

Maybe he's one of the Four Horsemen of the Apacolypse?

Makes you wonder....

Ok. I guess Hillary's the better candidate. If it comes down to a contest between the two, vote for Hillary.

Anyone remember Times Square B.R.?

The same "conservative" folks who seem to hate him now (if they actually _are_ conservative...) wouldn't have been caught dead there.

If he doesn't think that the 2nd Amendment applies in places like New York, what other amendments does he think are purely "advisory"? The 1st? The 13th?

Why is Rudy's response to the legitimacy of a law to attack the mental health of the person issuing the challenge?

Is this someone we want in the whitehouse, who thinks W is a "great leader" and wants to continue in his footsteps? The NYPD did things under giuliani that make the Abu Ghraib soldiers look like boy scouts (or girl scouts) in comparison. The bastard hasn't been elected and I already want to impeach him. And Im a republican.

With apologies to all weasels, I agree that Rudy Julie-Annie does look like one. He has that pathological liar gleam in his eyes, almost as much as Bill Clinton had. He reminds me of the worst of used car salesmen.

Yes, which strikes me as a sneaky way of saying "You should elect me because of what I did in NY but don't expect me to do anything the same once you make me President." In other words, he's already asking for a blank check ...

It also suggests that he doesn't have a clue what he would do as president. Sort of like George H. W. Bush when he was running. Somebody asked him what his plan for the country was. His reply was the famous, "Read my lips; I want to be President" statement.
