What is the correct torque specifications for the screws for Ruger 10/22 V-block screws?

Acquired a spare barrel from a friend and want to know what torque spec to use as recommended by the factory.

I prefer not to use German torque....a.k.a. "Good-n-tight".

Thx

If nothing else, shoot an e-mail to the Ruger tech-help guys & get the information from the horse's mouth.

Good question.
Having had about a half dozen 10/22s and taken them apart for various reasons, I've never had a bbl block/screws come loose from shooting.
Never cranked em crazy tight either.
I don't crinkle scopes, or have rings/bases come loose (or get scope slip).

Have seen folks barely snug screws, on some thumpers too. Others tighten to the point of insanity (and damage).

Some folks have less feel than others I reckon.

Typed in "10/22 v block screw torque"
Went to a Ruger forum, two different discussions say 28 in-lbs.
Other threads (other sites) say 10-20 in-lbs.
Couple aftermarket parts suppliers just say "barely snug".

Some want very little to avoid "barrel droop".

Me? I'd try 20 in-lbs.....maybe a little more, depends on how it felt LOL.

^^^ What Oregon Bob said!
I know and could tell you, but I won't.
Go to rimfire central for anything you want to know about Ruger 10/22's.
