With all the talk about 3" revolvers these days, I thought I'd photograph my blue GP-100 3" since I already did so with my stainless model. These guns are just about the exact same size as a 3" 686, but with fixed sights. And they're readily available in both blue and stainless. Remarkably accurate, comfortable to shoot, and can handle hot loads with ease... all in all a great defense/carry revolver. While the grips look like the same grips as on the 4" and 6" GP-100, they are actually scaled down for the 3" fixed sight version... so they're nice and compact... but look just like the full size version. The grips are larger than those on the SP line, however.

Very nice! I am getting the bug to buy one of these beauties! I have always been a S&W guy, but that GP is real sweet! Thanks for the pictures.

Those are some nice lookin' guns!
I still like the blue best, not to mention those big, gaping Gold Dots!

Indeed. Speer GD is the best "pucker factor" .357 round I'm aware of. You can see those things glitter in the cylinder from across the room.

Did yours come with the SA hammer? I thought the 3" fixed sight models were all DAO...

All the 3" fixed sight GP's are traditional DA/SA revolvers. I believe the only SA only "modern revolver designs" Ruger makes is the bobbed hammer SP-101 2.5" model.
