Was re-reading this thread and decided Ive had my fun with the .30 Blackhawk, but Im kinda refocusing my arsenal towards the more tactical/SHTF end of things and this isnt terribly useful for such. So, going up for sale in the Trading post if anyones interested.

Somewhere on forums a shooter wrote that when he got sprayed with brass from one of those semiautos, he will pull 30 Crabine Ruger and after less than a cylinder-full, he will be the only one behind shooting bench.

Just out of curiosity, would prolonged shooting, using factory ammo, make erosion on barrel forcing cone area on 30 Crabine Blackhawk?

1. I had 2 guys in the line, next to me, started to shoot a Desert Eagle .50AE and laughing at reactions from other shooters. I put the Single Six back in the bag. 1 of them remarked about my leaving, couldn't handle a REAL gun. I take out the .30 Carbine. Loaded 6 rounds and fire 6 rounds, non-stop. I begin to reload the cylinder and they packed, left. Guess they couldn't handle a pop gun.

2. I have never seen or heard of a problem with forcing cone erosion.

Back in the mid 90s After reading an article about the .30 Carbine Blackhawk I headed to my fav Gunshop in San Antonio with the express purpose of buying one. Was intrigued with the FPS number. Left the shop about an hour later with a .45 Colt Convertible Blackhawk. My first ever center fire handgun.

Eventually ( like a few on this thread) I ended up with the .327 FM in a 7.5 inch Single 7. Haven’t had the urge to really consider the .30 Carbine BH since.

I did see a .30 carbine BH used for sale on a local gun site a couple of weeks ago for around $700-$750 with a holster and a few rounds of ammo. It’s gone now.
