So, I have a Ruger 44 Magnum "Sporter" model and the stock has started cracking behind the receiver. It appears that this is a very common issue on these guns.

This is the model I have (although not my picture)

Here are the cracks I have (my picture)

Does this look like something that can be repaired? Or am I out of luck?

This brings my to my next question, will the regular stock that takes a barrel band fit on this rifle? I know that one only has the barrel band holding it on in the front while this one has a screw that runs through the sling mount into a block mounted on the rifle after the tube. I've found a few regular stocks, but can't find this "sporter" style anywhere. I'm wondering if I can use the regular one.

My last question, is there anywhere to get one of these stocks? If anyone has a good one for sale, please let me know as I'd be very interested in it.

Yes it can be repaired, you should do it before it cracks completely. If I were doing it, I would use Acraglass in the cracks, and glass bed the recoil lug to the stock. The standard stock with band will fit your gun also, you can still get them new from a couple suppliers. The early finger groove stocks don't come up for sale very often, and are expensive when they do.
