Or maybe a savage 99 clone would be nice. With a Leupold 2.5-8 or 3-9 on top would make an awesome little gopher rifle.
I'm not sure if it's sacrilegious to say, but I think a savage 99 in a really light modern Kevlar carbon fibre type stock would make a great walking around a field rifle.
I would love to stumble across a prairie dog town with a pocket full of rotary magazines 10/22 style.
