Ok, so I'm browsing the Ruger site and come across their P-series. The first version I saw on the site holds 8 rounds, so obviously a single stack. I browse down and notice that all of the 9mm versions hold 10 rounds, but I am not sure if they mean 10 rounds in neutered mags (many firearms sites still say 10+1 rather than 15 or 17+1, for some reason) or that the gun actually holds 10 rounds of 9mm, single stacked (which would make sense sizewise, since the single-stack .45 holds 8).

So, how do I tell what models are single-stack and what models are double-stack?

edit: Forgot to ask- can Ruger's be dry-fired a lot? I've been tld that most conventional autoloaders can but I just want to make sure.

Ruger 45 Calibers are single stack..factory 7 and 8 round mags.

Ruger 40 Caliber and 9mm are double stack. Don't know about the 40 Caliber but the 9mm's have factory 10 and 15 rounders..flush fit.

I have the KP94 on 1 nightstand and the KP97 on the other. That way I can't get out of the wrong side of the bed. :)

I hope so. I dry-fired mine a lot in an effort to get used to the DA trigger.

Ruger does not sell full capacity mags to the public anymore, so you're stuck with aftermarket mags if you want more than 10.

That is funny, they are on their web site.I bought two 15 rouners for my P94 with a 20% discount from Ruger. All P series rugers now ship with full capacity mags. They are already in the stores now.

Local shop has new in package, non-LEO marked Ruger 15 rd mags for P series. Also has several new P series autos with two 15 rounders in box instead of ten rounders. All received shortly after ban sunset.

you were partially right Bacchus. Ruger will not sell Mini-14 "Hi-Caps" to anyone but police.

You will just have to wait a while.Ruger is very busy. They can not meet the demand for the P345.The P series mag lines are going full blast. Also the P345 design in other calibers is coming.

Don't think it has to do with production issues BlackPanther.

Ruger had the no Mini-14 mags over 5 rounds for civillians policy well before there ever was an AWB and they have started giving out high caps with pistols, but still state over 5 round Mini mags will still be only sold to Law Enforcment.

I've seen 18rnd flush fitting mags for the 9mm p-sieres pistols. I'd like to get one, but they are a little more pricey than the 15rnd-ers. Oh well...You can also get 30 rnd mags made for the Ruger PC9 Carbine, but of course they don't flush fit.

I ordered a rear sight from Ruger for a mini 14 a couple of weeks ago and asked about 20rnd mags for the 14. Iwas told by the lady taking my order that Ruger was not going to sell >5 rnd mags to the public. They had decided to continue with Bill Ruger Sr. policy. They do however sell the high cap for their handguns.
