Hi everyone,

I just picked up a new Ruger American Magnum in 7mm Rem (discontinued model). I took it apart and found out that one of the e-clips that holds the trigger assembly together was the wrong size (or bent) and it doesn't clip on. I emailed Ruger and asked for a replacement.

While doing that, the pin that the trigger safety blade rides on fell out and I've lost it. It's the pin that the safety blade pivots on, runs through the main trigger itself, and is held captive by the trigger housing.

Does anyone out there know the dimensions of that pin? I've asked Ruger for a new one, but I'm afraid they're going to deny it based on it being a part integral to the trigger, "we're a big company run by lawyers", etc. It'd be easy enough to replace with a properly cut and ground piece of barstock, I just need to know what to buy.

Can anyone out there help?

Thanks!

I betcha ruger send you a new pin. I have the exact same rifle, ill check and see what size the pin is...in fact i was planning on pulling the blade from my trigger anyway, so if ruger dosent get back to you about it soon i can just send you my pin.

Didn't hear back from Ruger today, we'll see.

LoonWulf - Thanks for the offer, I'll let you know if I hear back (or if I have any other epiphanies).

shooter1niner - that's a possibility...what I'd probably do it take the trigger in to the hardware store and try different things, manually fitting them.

Ruger sent me a new part...not sure if it was the eclip or the pin...guess I'll find out in a couple of days.

If its not the pin let me know. I havent taken my 7 out of its stock yet, but i need to clean the rust off the bottom at some point soon

It was the pin and 2 eclips. Just finished reinstalling... With the M-Carbo spring (that I clipped a couple coils off of) I have a nice consistent 1.5 pound pull. Pretty darn happy with it given the $ spent, also happy with Ruger.

Thanks for the offer of help!!
