My search didn't return any results. What is the feeling on the quality of these rifles?

I have one and really like it. Seems to be well built, tight fitting, no rattles when shaking, and trigger is not bad at all. My first 10 shots from a rest at 75 yards gave me, first 4 gave me a 2 1/2 inch horizontal line and ended with a 3/4 inch 6 shot group. That was using the factory sights and 55 grain PMC Bronze. I can't say how long it will last as I have only shot 200 rounds so far without a hicup but was well worth the 589.00 it cost me.

I bought mine this past summer and have enjoyed it a lot! I put about 300 rounds through it with zero issues before changing out the trigger group springs. The stock trigger broke nice and clean but was a bit heavy. I've only put about 60 rounds of brass ammo through since the switch but no problems so far. I would not hesitate to recommend it to family or friends looking for a well built, entry level AR.

I don't have one, but I read all over about them just a few months ago when I was looking at one. I was set to buy it, walked in to the store to buy it, and the darned old clerk (who remembers me by name at this point) whipped out a free floated Troy and sold me on "the free float would be better for coyote hunting". That's what I get for letting the staff get to know me and what I use my guns for... Anyway, the Ruger, by all accounts I read, is an excellent value for the dollar(s), actually even being hard to beat for the price point.

The one "oddity" is the 1/8 twist, which some people will diss, but I have one in my Colt LE6900 and it shoots the smallest little groups with a large variety of bullets, I think I may honestly prefer 1/8 over 1/7. But there's that. The grip will compress under moderate to firm hand squeezing from me, so it may break under duress, and if I remember right the BCG has a weird profile up front, on a non contact place.

When it comes to barrel twists, most everybody strokes their beard over the 1:7 simply because its mil spec. When 90% of AR shooters primarily shoot bulk 50-62gr fodder, 1:9 and 1:8 are great.

That was one of the reasons I wanted mine. It has grouped 50, 55, and 75 grain bullets quite well. It was not quite as tight with the 64s but still not terrible.

The DI gas Ruger is a decent entry level AR but compare its specs to other brands. No sense limiting yourself to just one brand when there are so many good offerings at the same price. Just like when buying a car or HDTV, there's a wide selection so the odds of getting what you really want go up when you do your homework.

Oh I suppose I should note, don't buy it at MSRP. The reason it's such a good deal is because it's usually in the $599.99 range. Which puts it in competition with S&W Sports and such, that don't have the features the Ruger does. Just a thought, it's a big name rifle, with features, for a small name/featureless price.
