These were grabbed in a trade back before Christmas, but I never made a post about them. There is just something 'right' about a birdshead grip for me. If these were blued they'd be perfect :)

Both are consecutive #'s New Vaquero 45 Colt's and one features a beautiful set of a stag from Sack Peterson. The fit isn't great but they were a good way to get my feet wet coming with the gun. May send both frames in and get matching sets fitted.

Include a range photo from my first outing as well, off hand at 20 yards. One shot high while the other shot low. I'm going to have some action work done and send the smith a box of my favorite load so they both shoot point of aim.

I’ve always like the birds head configuration. Unfortunately, I got a Beretta Stampede Marshall. Sure wish I had paid the extra bucks for a Ruger so I would have a shooter instead of a paper weight.

I love Birdshead. I want a shopkeeper so bad I can't stand it but I haven't found one I am willing to pay for yet.

I thought I wanted one til I got one in my paws. The engraving was just not for me.

I handled and almost bought one of the italian clones, but ended up trading into this with a value of $375/gun. Figured the getting wouldn't ever get close to better so I jumped.

I just picked mine up last month. LOVE it. Mine is also stainless. Blued would be sweet. The guy who made the boars head with non fluted cylinders is sweet. Love your holster as well.

I have a blued model 45 colt with the 3 and 3/4 inch barrel I like it a lot it is a fun gun to shoot that's for sure :D:D:D and that is a nice pair their eagle stroked so what did you give up on the trade for the pair ????

fine looking set you have there...

i agree, the birdshead grip always just sat well with me.

I only have 1 of those, but it's already been set up by Gary Reeder, years ago.
Free spin pawl, action work, polish, clocked barrel, recut forcing cone, etc, etc.
If you get one that shoots straight, you don't part with it.
I really didn't 'need' that gun, but man, is it fun to shoot.

Thanks Greg, I'd love unfluted ACP cylinders but they are worth the price of the guns to get for me. Appreciate the compliments on the leather, too :)

Very nice! We have a semi-local smith by the name of Billy Tierce that does great work on single actions. I just want a good trigger and POA shooting. Did order new base pins to allow for a smidge better extraction.

Don't 'need' many...sure are fun though :) Would love to see a photo of yours!

Hellow friends this is Elly.

Nice gun Elly!

Fantastic guns!! I have a need for one of these but have never managed to get my hands on one...the only ones I ever found for sale locally was a pair in .45 that were consecutive serials and they wouldn't split the pair.

Couldn't afford both. Someday.
