I have a 4 5/8" Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk, in .44 mag. I also have a 5.5" Bisley Vaquero 44. I'd like to combine the best of both worlds -- the short barrel length and good sights (at least for me) of the Blackhawk with the Bisley grip. I see that Ruger makes Bisley Blackhawks in 5.5" barrels. Could l buy one of those and swap out the grip frames? Thanks.

If you are talking about the new Bisley in the catalog,I believe the NM Vaquero is a mid-frame not a large frame. Why not use the grip you have and swap them out. That sounds cheaper to me.
You are doing exactly what I want to do. I would love a 4 5/8 SBH with a Bisley grip AND a fluted cyl.I guess I will get a 5.5" instead.

The grip frames from the Ruger single actions will all interchange so long as it's OM -> OM and NM -> NM. Even if they've been fitted/finished to a cylinder frame, it's possible it could still require fitting the new cylinder frame for a prefect fit. One "in the white" would surely need fitting and finishing. If you use a non-Bisley hammer in a Bisley grip frame you'll have a gap in the hammer slot. Use a Bisley hammer in a non-Bisley grip frame and you either need to enlarge the hammer slot or radius the hammer to that of the BH or SBH. Triggers have similar requirements if mixed & matched. Bisley grip frames also use allen head screws for the upper grip frame where as he others use standard slotted screws. If you buy one "in the white" you'll need the trigger pivot pin and grip locator pin also.
I've had a couple converted to a Bisley configuration and both came out great. Here's the after pics:

That Bisley conversion kit mentioned above from Brownells for $196.99 is probably the best way to go. You get the Bisley grip frame you want on your Blackhawk without having to strip down your Vaquero.
