I have a Ruger Blackhawk 45 LC that I bought used. It seemed to have a trigger job on it because the pull was very light and smooth. I am finding this to be somewhat inconvienient as it is actually a hair trigger. Is this a reversable process or do I have to get a new hammer and trigger?

Order the factory springs (main spring and trigger spring) from Ruger and have them installed first to see what happens,if all else fails return it to Ruger for a rebuild.

Before you do anything else...

Take off the grips and look at the trigger return spring. If you want the original pull, make sure both legs of the return spring are on the post where they should be. I happen to prefer a light trigger on my SA Rugers, and simply dropping one leg of the return spring off its seat is an easy way to get a lighter trigger pull.

Check to see if this was done to your gun, and undo it, if that is your desire. Then you can determine if you need new springs/parts. You may not need to do anything else.

I also bought a Blackhawk that some wannabe gunsmith had worked over. The trigger was just plain unsafe. I had 2 AD and decided it just wsn't safe. I second the suggestion of ordering in a spring kit and replacing the various springs.
