What follows are some of the offerings Id like ruger to make in the future, I have sent this to Michael Fifer, Ruger's CEO and hope it will come to fruition.

I will say that Ruger disappointed handgun hunters a bit by not chambering the .480 ruger into the existing Super Blackhawk line. We would like to see a 5-shot cylinder with a 5.5 inch barrel in a blued and stainless finish.

Also with the recent resurgence in the Ruger Red Label, many are wondering when or if Ruger will design a pump action 12 guage shotgun to compete with Mossberg and Remington offerings. Something Id like to see is the speed feed system used by discontinued winchester 1300 series, however with Ruger's craftsmanship I believe it can be the superior pump gun on the market today.

Awhile ago ruger introduced the sp101 in 9mm Federal and 9mm nato,
While I wouldnt necessarily like to see these offerings again, I would like to see the GP 100 frame in a 5 shot or the Redhawk in a 6 shot cylinder chambered in 10mm Auto/.40s&w

If theres anything else you like to add you can send your own comments to him to: https://www.ruger.com/dataProcess/tellTheCEO.html

I would like to see Ruger broaden their shotgun line also. Offer the smaller gauges in the Red Label again, and maybe come out with a new auto 12 and 20ga. The auto shotgun seems like a no-brainer, since the same platform can be used to cater to several markets. A nice light, wood stocked upland gun, camo waterfowl models, sporting clays, and tactical/defense. I think Remington, Mossberg and Ithaca have the US built pump market covered really well, but a US built auto to compete with Browning, Benelli, and Beretta should be a big seller.

I would like to see them make a gun that doesn't need to go back to the factory for repairs......

Just sayin'

Had my share of all product lines, kept one - my MKII and even that needed repair when it went full auto on me

Considering a HUGE portion of folks on forums similar to these only go by price and therefore choose the Chinese/Philippine/Turkish stuff, I doubt they could beat that price point

In most cases, that's only because they have to. If a person's only choice is between a cheap gun and no gun at all, most will go with the cheap gun.

I think American manufacturers could beat out the cheaper foreign stuff if they could hit a sort of sweet spot.Guns in the $600 to $1000 range that were of measurably higher quality than the $200 to $500 foreign guns.

If I'm eyeing a $350 Turkish made gun and I notice there is an extant $750 American made option, I'd be inclined to save a little longer. However, if the next step up in quality means spending $3k to $5k, I know I'll never have that kind of disposable income and just by the $350 gun.

They should make a really strong .357 Magnum DA revolver.
Oh, wait ... they make the GP100.

They should make a really good cowboy-style SA revolver in .357 Magnum.
Oh, wait ... they make the New Vaquero.

Never mind. I'm good. Carry on.

Like you OP, a shorter barreled GP similar to the Wiley Clapp in 10mm and/or 44 Special would be the cats meow and make me an eager buyer. I'd like an affordable 32 H&R SS offering again too.

.327 Federal Magnum Blackhawk / 5.5" barrel / stainless
.357 Mag - 9mm convertible Blackhawk / 5.5" barrel / Stainless

The return of a couple former offerings

I'd love to have a new Ruger RSM in 375 H&H. The muzzle break on their African Hawkeye ruins the appearance of a classic African big game rifle.
Or maybe a No. 1 in 9.3x62.

I know Ruger tends to change things up every so often, but I think they could have kept some things.

I would like to see the Great Eight brought back as a regular production model instead of a limited run gun. A 10" MK III pistol would sell like hotcakes based on the used prices of the 10" MKII guns.

Just got an email last week:

Bring back the BLUED Bisley Vaquero, and/or the No.3 preferably in 22 Hornet

And i'm with those who just don't see ruger (or any company) being able to successfully bring a new US-made auto shotgun to market. For ruger it would turn into a repeat of the Gold Label. They bring it to market and price it in line with it's quality etc, in the case of an Auto in line with a Benelli, and the buying public would throw a snit fit because it wasn't priced at or below what an Rem 1100 is going for. or if we liken it to the Gold label completely the "Market" would want it at a Turkish-gun price point.

I wish they would finally build an affordable .308 M14 / M1A.

Like the X-GI they tried to make & advertised in 1984-85, but didn't.

Oh BS; when the difference between an American made gun and some POS import is maybe 20 bucks, I am not buying that line of thinking - if you are THAT poor, you have other issues to deal with
