Is it me, or does the Ruger DA have a very distinctive (and very distracting) 'clunk' when the cylinder bolt engages? I can't seem to recall noticing this with my S&W 629/686, but both my GP100 and my Redhawk have this trait.

In DA slowfire, it's not necessarily a bad thing (since I use it to guage how far I am from let-off). But in fast DA work, it seems as if the cylinder spinning and then suddenly stopping with a clunk just torques my sight picture all to hell and back again.

Then again - maybe I'm just a bad shot in general and this trait has nothing at all to do with that. :)

There is a definate "clunk" with both my GP100s, but I don't find it distracting. Probably a function of the size of the locking bolt and the spring pressure behind it.

Has anyone ever heard of a means by which this clunk can be reduced/eliminated?
