Ruger expanding to N.C.

did they merge with remington? Mayodan's not big... wouldn't seem to be the firearms manufacturing powerhouse that it's becoming.

Good for Ruger ! ! !

Would love to see some firearms makers move to Ohio, particularly here in the North East Ohio "rust belt".

A LOT of empty factory space, and talented machinists, press operators, CNC machine operators, etc.

Ruger, and other gun companies will not expand in the Northeast "rust belt". Reasons?

I was just wondering the other day why exactly SIG Sauer put their North American operations in New Hampshire. I think FN got it right putting their plant in South Carolina. I hope Beretta moves down South by one state

New Hamphire is a very gun friendly and business friendly state! Congratulations NC, your going to like having Ruger there too! A great company!

Does Sig assemble and/or manufacturer guns in Exeter? Actually, I think they do so this surprised me as well. The Kahr announcement that they are moving from NY to PA is also a bit of surprise as PA is NOT a Right to Work state. So my assumption that gun companies won't move or expand in the northeast is WRONG. However, I believe the vast majority of manufacturing has moved to the South or off shore.

Yeah, I had a guy tell me the other day he was transferring up to PA and was promised a Supervisor's position, when he got there it was nixed by the Union because they wanted a Union member in that position, so he ended up moving and getting a huge pay cut.

I know there have been some fights between Maryland and Virginia over some of the bridge work over the Potomac on the interstates, due to the fact that Virginia is a right to work state. Like I said, maybe Beretta will move on down to Virginia

Anyone ever heard of a firearm company allowing a factory tour? I think it'd be neat if you could watch "your" firearm being built/tested, and either have it shipped to a FFL or walk out the door with it in hand if legalities permit. I know at least one car company used to allow that sort of transaction. I'm not all that far from the new site and would certainly travel to see the facility, etc.

Ruger has taken a step down in my opinion. It's now putting too many so-called "safety features" on many of its firearms. It should abandon California and start offering regular guns again.

If I lived in California, I'd be thankful some of the reputable gun companies included features enabling me to acquire them. I'm also sure the board at Ruger is glad the company isn't turning it's back on the market, either.

Ruger could, as some companies do, make models that are compliant in California and less restrictive models acceptable in other states... and we'd all pay more for those additional production lines.

The quality of Ruger's guns and their customer service is excellent. I take my hat off to them and welcome them to my state.
