I've noticed when dry firing my two GPs that one seems to have a noticeably longer pull before the hammer drops in DA. The model 1702 is a little shorter pull before hammer drops than the 1740. It's more noticeable with a slow pull. The 1702 has had @ 1500 more rounds through it. Anybody ever notice a difference in DA trigger pull between one of their GPs and another?

Yes. I have a 3" fixed sight and another 6" half lug model. I'm not sure of the manufacture dates but could look them up if you're interested. Both are stock and feel different to me. The 3" has more lateral slop in the hammer and trigger, the 6" is more tight and crisp. The weight of the pull is similar though the 3" seems a bit longer and smoother where the 6" may be shorter and heavier. It's very subjective but that's my assessment. The triggers have slightly different contours as well, possibly a feature? For what it's worth I also had two different sp101s, a standard and DAO, and the DAO model was inferior. I chalk it up to manufacturing tolerances but I also did not think they would ever be equal given the same amount of work.

Never compared directly, wouldn't make any real difference.

You'll find manufacturing variations with a time span between.

I have a mid nineties stainless GP100 6" 357 and a new Lipsey's 5" 44 special.....The newer Lipsey's model has an excellent trigger right out of the box. I'm not sure if the distributor has any work done to them.....My 357 has wolf springs and tens of thousands of rounds through it and is quite nice also, probably from being shot so much. Revolvers are a crap shoot IMHO....you can get a stinker from any manufacturer but in general they will be just ok . Easy enough to fix though. Keep shooting them, some will iron themselves out.....if they don't it's time to make a few simple changes.

Have been dry firing my Lipsey's with snappers.

Getting REAL SMOOVE LIKE!!! :D

Mated the sear in single action and it's a beaut.
