Ruger GP 100 in 5 inch barrel

Do you prefer this to the traditional 6 inch barrel? Im thinking of getting one as i already have a SW 686 in 4 inch.

I have one. I prefer them to 4 or 6. I think it's a strictly a preference thing. It balances great, not noticeably barrel heavy, soaks the recoil with stock rubber/wood grips perfectly using hot 357s, and lastly, it looks right to me.

I've always thought 5" bbl resolvers look and balance the best. Jamal

That being said, I own a 6" and two 3" .357's. I do have a 5" 460 mag though and love it.

Back in the day I always thought the 5" barreled S&W Model 27 was the ideal set-up for the .357 N frame. I think it would be great with the GP-100.
