I am starting to get into competitive shooting with my GP100, I love the gun, but am not fond of any speedloaders that I have used so far, mostly the one's that require a turn of the handle when you place the round in the cylinder. With that said, I have seen that I could take my cylinder off my gun and send it to be machines to accept moon clips. Is there anyway to buy a cylinder that has already been machined? Call me skeptical, but I do not want to send my only cylinder off, to be machined, if there isn't a way to buy another one, if it is lost, stolen, damaged beyond use, etc.

No, modifying the existing & fitted cylinder is the only way.

Ruger will not sell cylinders unless they fit them at the factory.
If you could find a used cylinder for sale somewhere else, it would need to be fitted & timing checked in your gun.

There are better speed-loaders though, that work better then moon-clips with the long revolver calibers.

These just push straight in with nothing to turn.

These just rip off.

Moon clips for .38/.357 have to be very thin to fit the almost non-existent groove under the rim on a case. They are easily bent or damaged.

That, coupled with the longer cartridges, make wobble and alignment slower then speed-loaders, or moon-clips in auto pistol calibers that are much thicker.
