Ruger GP100 Front Sight Change

I'm going to remember to bring the red and white pipes with me next time out. Today I found myself shooting at some green bulls with a green FO and the results weren't spectacular.

See that little green circle in the center of the target I posted earlier? The green pipe and the green dot made for an interesting sight picture.

The white rod is something new; hate to say it, but I can see Glock OEM sights about as well as anything.

Try as I might to find a better sight those factory Glock sights do work well for me as well.

The Glock front sights are others that I often swap out for HiViz sights. I’ve had a couple of them come from the factory either slightly crooked on the top or with a tiny tail of plastic from the molding process sticking up. As I’m focusing on the front sights these little imperfections drove me nuts, so away they went.

I have a G45 with Tru Glo TFX sights. I like them but I don’t feel they make my shooting abilities any more accurate at the range. I would say the Tru Glo sights are better suited for HD, which is why I bought them.

Indeed, their wheelhouse is for SD with most Glock/M&P/Xd, etc.

One of the Glocks I had with a wonky front sight was my 17L, which is a target gun. The HiViz sight is an improvement over the lopsided front sight that came with it. I guess I could put the white pipe in if I’m chunking it with the glowing green dot .

If available, I go with OEM steel Glock sights; these aren't available for the G42, so the poly ones remain.
I've used Dawsons on a number of SIGs, and like their fiber optic.
