chicharrones- I really like the alternative iron sight system you have set up! Is that just an aftermarket rear ramp sight installed using the same holes for the scout rail?My favorite way of using my GSR was with the factory sights. I liked it better than the scout scope set up I tried. Then my eyes hit that time in my life where the GSR ghost ring doesn't help me focus on the front sight anymore.
So, last fall I tried a 1.5-5x20 I already had. I liked how easy it is to use at 1.5x, the view is very large at the low end. However, I also had a 2-7x32 with better glass that gave less glare and is easier on my eyes. So, that is what I have on it now.
The reticle on the 2-7x32 Nikon is a simple duplex.
Here are two pics of it using #3 and #4 Ruger rings. The gun came with #4 and #5.

How did you do this? I want to do it too.
And that is precisely the scope I have on mine. You can do anything at 400 yards with a Leupold 2-7x variable.
Nice compact scope would go well with that rifle.
Wide field of view at 2x, and 400 \ 7x = 57 yards apparent distance to target.
You can probably throw a rock that far and hit something!!
