I want to select and mount a forward mounted scope on my scout rifle. I have NO interest in conventionally mounting a scope on this Ruger. I have other rifles so equipped and will not do it here. I want to be able to quickly detach the scope without tools and use the excellent iron sights.

Anyone using a Weaver Classic K series 4x 28mm dual X reticle scout scope on a Ruger Gunsite GSR Scout rifle? I like the price and power. Thoughts?

What QD ring height?

Anyone using UTG 1"/2PCs Low Pro LE Grade Picatinny QD Rings: 22mm Wide?

If you want to mount a scope that far foreword in Scout configuration?

You MUST use a 'Scout Scope' with extended eye-relief or you won't be able to see through it.
Because it will be WAY to far from your eye to see through.

Weaver makes a Scout Scope, but the K-4 isn't it.

As does Burris, Leupold, and others.

And some pistol scopes work well that far away from your eye.

Not sure what a K-4Weaver is. I was interested in the Weaver K series Scout scope, which is a fixed power 4x28mm for less money than the Leopold fixed power 2.5x28mm FX-II.

Midway list the Weaver Scout Scope at:

I wanted info from anyone using the Weaver, is it any good? Clear optics? Rings and height? Eye relief? Weaver used to be a good maker back in the day. I do not want to mount a variable on this particular rifle (carbine?)...K.I.S.S. Principle. Also wanted feedback on the QD rings in my first post.
