Makes you wonder why Ruger puts sand in their lube.
I've always thought that was a preservative (like cosmoline but less tenacious) and not a lube.
Glad you are liking the gun!

Interesting.......mine DOES have play between the slide & frame rails. If I lightly shake the pistol in my hand, I can actually feel the slide slopping side to side a little.Had mine out at the range for the first time yesterday. Once I got dialed in on the trigger and comfortable with the recoil, I was getting pretty accurate at 25 feet.
I also own the SR9c, but added the LC9 to have more carry options. The LC9 is really easy to carry - you actually can forget you have it on. Unlike the other subcompact single-stack 9s I've tried (Kel-Tec, Kahr), the Ruger is comfortable to shoot - no issues with trigger-guard bite.
As to what that poster up above says about quality, ah... no. The fit and finish on mine are excellent. There is no play in the slide and frame, the trigger is smooth and breaks nicely at the end, all controls are crisp, magazines "snick" home, and release perfectly. It's certainly an outstanding value if you can get one for under $400.
This is a weapon I added to my arsenal in order to fill a specific gap. I wouldn't select it as my only firearm.
