Everyone makes their own decisions.

When I decided a Rohrbaugh R9 with a buttplate mag catch was going to be my primary, I made the decision that 7 rounds was "enough" or if you look at all the possible SD situations and put them on a bell-curve, I decided 7 rounds of 9mm was going to cover enough of the bell-curve that I felt comfortable covering.

I actually practice quite a bit changing mags on that little R9 and with practice I got a lot faster at it than I thought was possible :)

Although now that I come to think of it - my choice to pocket carry an R9 really didn't cover all the situations I wanted to be prepared for, because I knew that deploying from the pocket while driving is difficult so I picked up a SAR B6P in cases of car-jacking or other emergency that might come up while I'm seated in my car.

Although I guess I could have just purchased a vehicle holster and the R9 would have gone from pocket to car holster while I was driving.

Maybe that was just an excuse to get another gun... I don't know.

You ever hear of hijacking a thread?

Stating an opinion repeatedly, and trying to portray that opinion as a fact, does not make it a fact, it makes you a bag of wind.

USAF_Vet doesn't troll. He shares facts when he has them and opinions when he has one, and is a valued member of THR in my experience.

Nailed it.

Just get the RUG.#90404 9rd mag. as a back up.
Get the Rug.#90364 extended floor plate for the 7rd mag. to get a more positive grip feel.
This made me feel more confident while carrying and quick draw practicing.
I hope some day there will be a DA/SA with decocker/safety in a small striker fired pistol.
