Hey everyone... took this LCP out shooting for her second round of plinking today. The only problem is the magazine kept falling out after taking a shot. This happened to 4 different people and we were actively trying to keep our fingers off the mag release. Has this happened to anyone else?

has

ur lcp been back for the recall??? If not then when you send it back let Ruger know of that issue.

If it has been back from the recall, check inside the grip and notice the magazine release. Ruger has made a change inside as to how this release is held in place. Your new mod will have a roll pin holding it in place, and that roll pin might be stickingout interfering with the correct lockup of your magazine. Very obvious to see if you can look down inside the mag well opening with a lite. If that pin is sticking out, just push it all the way in and try it.

Nothing sticking out, nothing seems out of place. I think I'll be looking to return this gun.

After 150 "confidence" rounds through my LCP, I have to say I have zero issues. Mine is a post-recall model that was cleaned and lubed before the first firing as well as havening the throat and ramp polished to a mirror shine.

If you send yours back to Ruger you will probably get a free mag(s) and a Ruger hat for your trouble.

Ruger customer service grade: A++

I have a 370-XXXXX serial numbered LCP, which was recalled. I put about 200 flawless rounds through the gun with no problems at all, but still sent it in this past Monday for the upgrades and the free magazine. Even the recalled LCPs are reliable from my experience, but they aren't drop-safe, according to Ruger. I have no doubt that I will trust mine that much more when I get it back. LCPs are great little guns for the money, and Ruger does have excellent customer service!

This was my first Ruger purchase ever. I am not a fan of their handguns at all, but the LCP is seriously so much gun for the money and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high quality, yet affordable pocket .380.

Test fired the Ruger LCP at the range 2 weeks ago. Our department got 2 in for T&E. One performed flawlessly. The other appeared to have an issue with the mage release and kept popping the mag out after every round. Further examination showed that a chunk of the polymer mag release had broken off, not allowing it to fully catch/hold the mag upon firing. It'd being shipped back for a fix. It'd be great to see the catch replaced with a stonger material.
