I vote for the single six. You can get them for about half an lcrs price

I have several 22 revolvers and my favorite and the one I enjoy the most is the Ruger single six. You can do good target work with it, plink at tin cans , and do small game hunting with it. A "must have" 22.

Unless you're needing concealed carry in a .22lr I'd recommend the Ruger Single Six. Carry mine quite frequently when out on the place in a covered holster. Its fairly light weight and with the magnum it can reach out and touch something as far out as I can accurately aim it. Have 5.5" barrell. Good luck.

lcr

I have the lcr in 357 and I love it I think the 8 round lcr22 would be a great option for you.

I have the LCR-22, Single Six(x2), Single Ten and SP101-22. Also S&W 317, 617 and Taurus 94. Since you didnt like the SP101-22(HUH?), and do like the SA revolvers, take a look at the Single Ten. Its a blast, and a better plinker than the Single Sixes. You can get it in blue as well. When plinking, the Single Six simply runs out of ammo too quickly. I do like my LCR-22. Its as accurate as any of the 22 revolvers can be with a short barrel. I have a Crimson Trace on my LCR-22 and its right on the money.

IMHO they all run out of ammo too quickly!

That said, for whatever reason, I still enjoy shooting my Single Six more than my USFA 12/22.

The point is you buy enough mags so you only shoot them once a trip

I'd have a ton of mags if I did that. When I break out the steel and a couple of 22's, I'll go through 500 rounds on a slow day. I'll normally load up all the mags and grab a bulk box out of the stash to bring along.

@il.bill

My problem isn't having to reload, or even having to reload often.

What I HATE is the long periods of not shooting because I'm loading all the magazines I just burned through for said gun!:fire:

Tube feds, top loaders, and revolvers have always interested me because the rate of fire is constant :D

Agreed there. Even with 8 30 round mags for my AR 22, it takes me less time to burn through the same amount of ammo (when just plinking for kicks and giggles) in my marlin 60 with less gear to haul around as a nice bonus.
