Over on the Ruger forum, a couple of people have reported gas cutting problems with their LCR's, where flash from the cylinder-gap upon firing has forced hot gases into the frame, cutting into it. A thought seems to be that an incorrect cylinder and or barrel alignment could cause this? Some have said that after firing about 125 plus rounds or so they noticed this. But some haven't had this problem with their LCR's? Could it be a segregated fluke? Maybe just an over sight during a numbered-lot manufacture? Maybe? However, many LCR owners have fired their LCR's far more often than that, and have reported no problems.
I believe the lightweight S&W revolvers have some type of a shield but the LCR doesn't? But Ruger has gotten some complaints. Don’t know the out come I guess just contact Ruger about it.
