Ruger M77 Recoil Pad

Would welcome some advice please.
Just got a Ruger M77 Mk1 in 0.308 Win.
The recoil pad is looking a bit old & tired so I want to replace it.
What make would you recommend guys & what thickness to take the "sting" out of the felt recoil ??????.

I have been very pleased with the results of Limbsaver recoil pads. I have one on my 308 and another on my hunting shotgun.
